OneToCook

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 June 2026

OneToCook (“we”, “us”) is a free web app that suggests recipes based on the ingredients and kitchen equipment you tell it about. We built it to be useful without demanding your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

OneToCook does not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, address, or any login.

Information we collect

What you type into the app. The ingredients, equipment, cuisine and time filters you enter are sent to our server to generate or look up recipes. To produce recipes, this information may be processed by our AI provider (Google, via the Gemini API). It is not linked to your identity, and we don’t ask you to include any personal details in these fields — please don’t.

Cached requests. To keep the app fast and free, we store recipe requests and their generated results so the same request doesn’t have to be regenerated. These records contain your ingredient/equipment inputs and the recipes produced — not anything that identifies you.

Saved on your device only. Your saved pantry and favourite recipes are stored in your browser’s localStorage. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

Technical logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes standard request data such as IP address and browser type to operate and secure the service.

Cookies and advertising

OneToCook is supported by advertising. We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including, where permitted, personalised ads based on your interests. Third parties may set or read cookies on your device when ads are shown.

You can learn more and control personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, aboutads.info, and Your Online Choices. Google’s own practices are described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a consent message before personalised ads are served and record your choices. You can change your consent at any time using the privacy options presented on the site.

If we run advertising campaigns on social platforms, we may use a measurement pixel (for example, a Meta pixel) to understand how well those campaigns work. This is used for aggregate measurement, not to identify you on OneToCook.

Third-party services we use

  • Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery and security.
  • Google (Gemini API) — generating recipe suggestions from your inputs.
  • Google AdSense — displaying and measuring ads.
  • Meta — advertising measurement, only if/when we run social ad campaigns.

How we use information

  • To generate and rank recipe suggestions from what you enter.
  • To cache results so the app stays fast and free.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the service.
  • To display advertising that keeps OneToCook free.

Data retention

Cached requests and recipes are kept to power the app and may be retained while they remain useful. On-device data (pantry, favourites) persists until you clear it. Technical logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Singapore’s PDPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to manage how your data is used for advertising. Because we don’t hold account-based personal profiles, most control is in your hands: you can clear your saved data via your browser, adjust ad personalisation through the links above, and change your consent choices on the site. To make a request or ask a question, contact us at alan@willowtech.co.

Children

OneToCook is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

OneToCook is operated for users in Singapore and Southeast Asia, and our service providers may process data in other countries. By using the app you understand your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above.
