About OneToCook
OneToCook is for the after-work moment when you’re hungry, tired, and staring at a half-stocked fridge. Tell it what you have and what you can cook with — it suggests fast, realistic recipes for one or two, tuned to your actual equipment and ranked by how much you already own, so you rarely need a grocery run.
We started it because the recipe internet is built for people with full pantries, big kitchens and an hour to spare. Most of us, most weeknights, have none of those. OneToCook works backwards from what’s actually in your fridge.
Who we are
OneToCook is built and run by Willow Tech, a small independent software studio. We’re a tiny team of home cooks based in Singapore, cooking the same weeknight meals for one or two that the site is designed around. There’s no test kitchen and no sponsored content — just a tool we wanted to exist.
What we cover
We focus on fast, home-style cooking across Western, Fusion, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, Malaysian and Japanese cuisines, plus no-cook salads — with ingredient names and shortcuts that make sense in Singapore and around Southeast Asia. Everything is portioned for one or two people and written for compact kitchens: a single induction hob, a microwave and kettle, an air fryer or a rice cooker are all fair game.
How the recipes are made
We’re upfront about this: our recipes are AI-assisted. We use a language model to generate dishes that fit your specific ingredients and equipment, then constrain it with a fixed structure — realistic steps, hands-on and total timings, sensible quantities and equipment checks — and cache the good results so the same request returns a known recipe rather than a fresh guess.
Each recipe page is supplemented with our own reference material: ingredient swaps, prep and technique notes (with links to our step-by-step how-to guides), food-safety storage advice and answers to common questions. The result is a strong starting point — but please use your own judgement on allergens, freshness and food safety. If something doesn’t look right, trust your instincts over the screen.
